Why do plumbers first tighten the thread without a seal. Important
I heard about a similar method, but did not attach any importance, in vain it is important. I had to remember when I took up plumbing myself, and here threaded connections are everywhere.
Newbie mistakes
In principle, making a connection in plumbing now is a simple matter, all the necessary materials and tools are on sale. But, as in any profession, there are a lot of nuances, one of them exact connection position, this is when you need it, so that the part becomes at a certain angle, and takes the desired position.
For example, a faucet or a corner, here, before winding up flax, or another thread seal, you must first screw on the fitting without it. And this is done to calculate the revolutions that the thread will allow to make. There are usually three to five of them, there are more, but this is rare.
One more moment
That is why experienced plumbers, at first, simply wind up the parts, counting how many turns they can make, and only then they wind up the seal and turn them at the required number of revolutions.
In the top photo, I decided to show it clearly, twisted the tap and the corner, setting a conditional position, the corner had to look down relative to the tap handle. It turned out exactly four turns, this also rarely happens. More with this fitting, it is important to shake the connection to see what kind of play, if large, then we wind more seal, small, then less. But how much will come with experience.
