What annuals I sow in July and soon get stunningly beautiful flower beds
In the height of summer, some of the flower beds in my garden lose their colorful decoration, fading. But soon - they are beautiful again!
Because I am used to sowing them in July, not bothering with seedlings, with the seeds of some rapidly developing crops. And maybe someone will find my list of things useful to extend the charm of a garden plot.
Verbena
Thanks to the late sowing, the verbena inflorescences collected in miniature bouquets can delight with their colors until frost!
I recommend sticking with the mix, combining purple, coral pink, raspberry and white varieties.
The main thing in caring for verbena - do not over-water, so as not to provoke a disease such as black leg and all kinds of spots.
Eschsholzia
A guest from North America has grayish-green stems that resemble sprigs of dill or rosemary, and the flowers are predominantly yellow-orange and can be double, semi-double, or simple.
A curious feature of the plant is that the buds roll up not only at night, but also in cloudy weather. This flower is very effective for planting in rocky gardens.
Nemophila
Stunningly beautiful flowers, in many varieties the inflorescences look like teacups with a white border around the edge or a white center. There are varieties of sky blue, lemon, dark purple.
When sown in July, the species blooms in early September. The place can be chosen slightly shaded.
Marigold
Famous classic! Fragrant and bloom almost until winter. My favorites are unusual varieties, for example, with pinkish petals.
I advise you to sow marigolds in problem areas of the garden - because they have an amazing property of repelling pests.
Delphinium
It is noteworthy that if you sow this perennial earlier, then you will have to wait for flowering only next year. Due to the growth of the delphinium, it is better to make the stylistic accent of the entire flower arrangement in the flower bed.
Delphinium seeds can germinate slowly, which is unacceptable in July, so I recommend pre-soaking them.
Pansies
To make them happy in the second half of summer, the place for them should be chosen the sunniest - otherwise the flowering will be faded and short-lived.
And it is also undesirable to fertilize the soil too much for them, in particular, caution is needed with nitrogen - from this, pansies almost lose their immunity, become vulnerable to fungal diseases.
