Pepper is a capricious culture. What to feed to increase the ovaries, what to put into the soil to get a lot of large fruits
Many gardeners complain about the slow growth and development of bell peppers. They seem to be well fed, watered, sprayed, but the pepper does not want to grow as we would like. What needs to be done to fix the situation before it's too late?
Activities thatwill improvegrowthfruitandincreaseovaries
1. If at the beginning of the formation of the pepper you did not manage to remove the flower-crown in the fork of the plant, then remove it, even if the fruit has already formed. It will retard the growth and development of the remaining peppers. All the main force will go into the first fruit set. Previously, I did not remove it, but in recent years I have always removed it, because the yield of the crop has noticeably increased and the size of the fruits has increased significantly.
2. It is also necessary to remove all stepsons and leaves that formed before the fork.
3. Peppers must be fed at least 3 times per season. The first time I feed with green fertilizer (1 liter of solution per 10 liters of water) 10 days after planting seedlings in the ground.
The second time I apply green fertilizer (can be replaced with nitroammoscopic - 1 tbsp. spoon for 10 liters of water) during flowering and the beginning of the formation of ovaries. The third feeding is watering with ash (1 glass of substance per 10 liters of water) and green fertilizer (1 liter of solution per 10 liters of water). If there is no ash, then you can replace it with chalk, dolomite flour.
The fact is that the slow growth of peppers (even with abundant feeding) can be triggered by acidic soil. Nitrogen fertilizers strongly acidify the soil over time.
Ash in this case may not help, because it only copes with less acidic soils. The roots of the plant cannot properly absorb food from the soil properly, the growth of pepper may stop altogether.
Therefore, chalk or dolomite flour will help deoxidize the soil. But in order to get a rapidly digestible form of these substances, they need to be extinguished with table vinegar.
For 10 liters of water, 1 tablespoon of dolomite flour (chalk) will be required, which must first be poured into a glass (jar) and quenched with a small amount of vinegar of 9 percent. Pour the mixture into a bucket of water, then stir the mass. The solution is ready. For each plant, you need to pour 0.5-1 liters of this liquid, moistening the soil in advance.
Vinegar can be replaced with green fertilizer or urea, with the presence of nitrogen, calcium is also well absorbed. In this case, the next mixture is prepared. 10 liters of water will require 1 cup of chalk and 1 tablespoon of urea (or 1 liter of green fertilizer). Mix all ingredients and pour over the root.
These activities should help the plants start growing, set a lot of fruits and please with their harvest.
