Advantages and disadvantages of plastic pipes for heating
For the organization of the heating system in the apartment, pipes made of steel were previously used. But after the plastic pipes were presented by the manufacturing companies, many apartment owners made the corresponding replacement.
Pros of plastic pipes
Among the total number of plastic pipes, several can be distinguished:
1. Corrosion resistance. Moisture never forms corrosion spots on the surface and inside of plastic pipes. In addition, plastic pipes do not start to rot even with prolonged contact with water.
2. Relatively low thermal conductivity coefficient. In such pipes, the liquid will not cool quickly. This is very important if pipes are purchased to complete the heating system.
3. Persistence. Plastic pipes do not collapse under the influence of temperature fluctuations, at high pressure.
4. Silence. Since the inside of the plastic pipes is completely smooth, the water will move almost silently.
5. Low weight. This makes it possible not only to easily transport the pipes, but also to carry out their quick installation without tools and equipment at hand.
6. Low cost.
Minuses
• The presence of a temperature threshold. So, water that is heated to 96 degrees or more should not flow through the pipes.
• Low rigidity of the outer frame. Therefore, the integrity of plastic pipes will be compromised by excessive mechanical stress.
