The attic was sheathed with a profiled board. Plating process and what happened in the end
Buying a small country house, I hoped to make repairs myself in order to save money. There were no problems with wallpaper and laminate flooring, but working with wood required skill. I enlisted a neighbor to help me, planned every step of the lining of the attic, and I got a spacious, comfortable room. The process did not go without unpleasant nuances and errors that were discovered already at the finish line.
What is needed for work
You will need the most common inventory that is in every home: a saw, a hammer, a level, pliers, a construction pencil, a puncher, assembly glue. For the covering of the attic, an already processed board with poses was purchased.
Attic sheathing process
When connected, the structure becomes cast. It is important to correctly measure and cut the boards strictly according to the drawing, and then fasten them with glue (groove to groove).
On a note! Pre-measure the room to buy enough material and avoid surplus residue.
The space around the stairs was closed with ordinary wooden partitions, which were purchased ready-made in a hardware store.
The first mistake: they did not think over a small pillar that connects the partition with the stairs. It had to be fastened with special iron brackets, which now do not look aesthetically pleasing.
Corners, bevels, plinth
A plinth and rail was bought to mark corners, bevels and the closing of floor seams.
The second mistake: the rail framing the contours of the attic was nailed with small carnations, which does not look very beautiful. It is better to use a special glue that will not leave marks on the wood.
One of the final stages is the installation of plastic windows "under a tree". For this work, I turned to specialists.
IMPORTANT! If you decide to hang pictures or other interior items on the walls of the attic, keep in mind that later, when you remove the canvases from the walls, traces will remain, because the tree burns out over time.
