How to get rid of Spider mites in a Greenhouse? The only way that really helped me
Spider mites are one of the biggest problems for greenhouse owners, whose conditions favor it successful reproduction and existence, literally depriving plants of their juices and at the same time - vitality.
As soon as I did not try to lime it! But it turned out in the end that you can limit yourself to one single folk remedy. It's cheap and environmentally friendly!
Preparation of the product begins with garlic - 200 g of cloves must be chopped, for example, by scrolling in a meat grinder, pour 1 liter of hot water and remove to infuse for 2 weeks.
The good thing about garlic is that with mechanical destruction, a unique substance, allicin, begins to be produced in the cells of its pulp. It is this that provides the characteristic smell of garlic, and is also literally destructive for many pests.
You will also need 1.5 kg of fresh potato tops, which can be replaced with 800 g of dry raw materials. The tops should be poured with 4 liters of hot water and infused for 7 days.
Unlike garlic, specific compounds of potato tops scare away spider mites, that is, plants treated with a solution lose their appetizing. And the spider mite literally escapes from its habitat, which in greenhouses often becomes various construction gaps.
Ready solutions must be diluted with clean water - by adding 5 liters and you can start processing crops grown in the greenhouse, as well as processing everything, everything in it.
I know that laundry soap is often added to spray products to make them sticky, which prolongs their effectiveness in fighting pests.
But in this case, this is not necessary for the reason that both components are high in essential oils and other substances lingering on everything that is processed, almost on the molecular level.
If the spider mite is not yet in the greenhouse, but you don't want the situation to escalate with its appearance, I advise you to also treat the closed space with this tool.
Only instead of potato tops, you can use chamomile inflorescences. It is necessary to boil 300 g of raw materials for 15 minutes in 3 liters of water and then, combining with the garlic infusion, bring the total volume of the product to 10 liters.
In such a simple, and even cheap and safe way, you can protect your greenhouse plantings from spider mites!
