Can a ceramic drill be used to drill a bearing?

We continue to define the range of possibilities that seem to be quite ordinary drills for glass and ceramics, which I recently wrote about. Previously, he showed how this consumable famously drilled several rather "strong" steel gizmos, including a hacksaw and a file. First, let's focus on the chrome vanadium cap. She has been lying idle for a long time, accidentally and free of charge, so if a hole appears in her, the soul does not hurt. 10 mm head, it looks like still Soviet times. To be honest, I myself did not expect the drill to pass chrome-vanadium with such confidence. I didn't even drill to the full depth of the soldering - it makes no sense. As you can see on picture 2, the hole in the head body is through. Obviously, the soldering of the drill coped with this thing successfully.

Then we move on to the bearing. He served his purpose: he worked at the anchor of a drill, but when the anchor burned out, he cut off the shank from it along with the bearing. I don't know for sure, but it seems that in such bearings and bearing steel ШХ15. I use a drop of oil and a drill at low speed again.

With the bearing things went slower, but they went on. As I went I watched the drill and didn't really understand when, but the very tip of the drill still flew off, which can be seen from the picture. Most likely this was after the drill passed the outer ring of the bearing and reached the cage with balls.

The main thing is that this time everything worked out and again I was convinced that the drill can be safely trusted with serious tasks.

Yes, one drill was enough for both holes and I also think it will work wonderfully well. So there are definitely good drills, and you just need to look for them. Today, in short, that's all!
