How to get rid of the Fruit Moth in the garden? 2 Most Effective Methods, Tested Personally
Without a shadow of exaggeration, the moth can be called the main enemy of fruit trees! Apple trees, pears, quince, plum and other crops... The moth threatens them for 4 months, as a result of its complex biology it is present simultaneously in several stages of development.
In principle, it is not difficult to buy powerful chemicals that destroy the moth in a gardening store! But only after their use for a person, fruits will, perhaps, not only not be useful, but even dangerous ...
But if you have a little free time and a willingness to work hard, you can get rid of the moth using one of 2 proven folk methods.
I personally tested them about 8 years ago and since then I can hardly worry about the invasion of the moth on my orchard.
If the moth has just appeared in the garden, then ordinary wormwood can save it from it. You need to collect 1 kg of grass and dry in any way, then pour 10 liters of water and after 24 hours boil the infusion for 30 minutes. Next, the product must be filtered and diluted with clean water in proportions 1: 2.
Apple trees are sprayed once a week, in the evenings, until the pest disappears. In addition to being cheap, this method is good because it allows you to process apple trees whenever you want.
Even if they bloom, then the ovaries are not formed in a smaller volume, and if the ovaries have already appeared, such fruits can be eaten without fear.
If there are a lot of moths in the garden, then it is worth using a burning agent. To prepare it, I pour 10 liters of water 1 cup of garlic husks, 1 cup of onion skins and 1 chopped chili. The liquid is enough to insist for 24 hours and can be sprayed. As a rule, it demonstrates sufficient efficiency already from 2-3 treatments, and they need to be carried out with an interval of 3-4 days.
In addition, in the fight against the moth, one should not neglect preventive measures, which means:
· Timely remove overripe, spoiled fruits from trees;
· Remove shoots from tree trunks;
· To dig up trunks after harvesting;
· Prune branches at the first sign of fungal diseases.
And in early spring, you need to cut off the old bark from the trees - it is in its upper layer that moth pupae can winter. Naturally, the bark cannot be used for anything - all that remains is to burn it.
