5 Most Beautiful but Dangerous Flowers in Your Flower Garden
When planting flowers in the garden, it must be remembered that some plants are a potential threat to pets and children.
Many horticultural crops produce poisons to combat their enemies, but only those that can harm animals and people are considered dangerous.
In my garden there are 5 beautiful flowers that are poisonous:
Narcissus
· Delphinium;
Hyacinth;
· Rhododendron;
· Brugmansia.
An unpleasant situation is often created as a result of mixing harmless plants with poisonous ones in the garden. I love daffodils and only plant them in a flower bed, as there are times that their greenery is confused with the foliage of some bulbous plants used for food. Simple inattention can turn into poisoning.
Flowers of such a perennial as delphinium are poisonous because they contain highly toxic substances, the largest amount of which is found in the juice and roots.
Getting on the hands or eyes of a person, the juice of these plants can cause the following body reactions:
· Skin irritation;
· Inflammation of the mucous membrane;
· Respiratory depression;
· Violation of the rhythm of the heart;
· Damage to the central nervous system.
I approach flowers from the bulbous family with extreme caution. Colchicum, lily of the valley, hyacinth and narcissus contain poison, the highest concentration of which is in the bulbs.
In addition to food poisoning, careless handling of these plants can cause dermatitis due to the juice on the hands, so they should only be planted with gloves.
A strong hallucinogen is brugmansia, which contains toxins in the juice that are dangerous for the life of animals and people.
Blooming rhododendron bushes contain the dangerous substance andromedotoxin, which can cause pain, nausea, paralysis and even death. The honey obtained from these plants is harmful to human health.
In case of accidental contact with the juice of poisonous flowers on the skin or mucous membranes, you must immediately rinse the affected area with water and consult a doctor.
Avoid planting flowers that have a strong scent near windows or when entering a house, as they can cause headaches, heart palpitations and allergies.
Those pets that spend most of their lives in apartments lose their instinct for self-preservation, so when they get to the dacha, they indiscriminately try all the plants.
While dogs can be prevented from touching certain flowers through training, it is much more difficult with cats. For them, you need to grow a special herb so that there is no vitamin starvation.
All of these flowers grow safely in my garden. Knowing about the poisonous properties of these plants, I do not want to get rid of such beauty.
After all, the main thing in working with plants are precautions that must be strictly observed.
