Looking for the perfect laminate flooring for your private home. Choosing a laminate with two goals: low price and excellent quality
I was thinking about renovating a private house before the summer. The first thing I was going to buy was the flooring. I was choosing between laminate and parquet. When looking for a suitable floor covering, I pursued two impossible goals:
Average price
Best quality
I went to the market in the early morning, armed with basic knowledge of various types of floor coverings. For example, which thickness is better? What material should it be made of? Is parquet or laminate better?
I will make a reservation right away, having walked along and across the market, I found the overpriced parquet. Even with a strong desire to buy parquet, my finances would not have pulled its cost. Unfortunately, any desire to cover the floor with parquet has disappeared.
So how did I choose the best laminate flooring? First of all, pay attention to stores with a wide range of products. In such stores, you can negotiate a price that is suitable for both parties.
Decide exactly what you want to purchase. If you do not have a clear plan, you are likely to succumb to the manipulations of cunning sellers and buy something completely different from what you wanted. Measure the area of your room and the number of all corners in the room. Most often, laminate is sold in packs of 6-10 pieces. I bought laminate in a pack of 20. The quantity in a package depends on the level of manufacturers and their quality.
Do not choose the most expensive class, believing that the thicker the better. No need for extra costs Decide on a shade, then you can move on to choosing a class of wear resistance. This is the thickness of the protective layer that protects the laminate pattern from various damages, from abrasion, from scratches. There are 31, 32, 33 classes.
· Choose 31 classes for little-attended rooms, for example, in guest rooms or bedrooms.
· Class 32 is all the other rooms in your house, rooms in which you often visit. This is a kitchen, a hall and others.
· Class 33, in principle, is intended specifically for the offices of companies, for public institutions with a high level of traffic.
I chose class 32. For living room flooring.
Pay attention to the density! Initially, I did not quite understand why to pay attention to density. I thought it was for warmth. The seller explained everything, for example: You accidentally spilled liquid on the laminate, if the thickness is not dense, a nightmare begins, cracks form, the laminate swells, opens like a bud. Overall, the looks will be disappointing, and that's not to mention how much dust can crawl out of the cracks. Choose density depending on the room.
Places of joints. Lay the laminate as follows: Move several laminates in perfectly even sections. Thus, the gap between them is almost invisible. Such qualities are endowed with many Russian, German and Austrian production laminates. Avoid Chinese production, the junction is like a grand canyon. The joints should be invisible.
How to detect a fake? Expand the laminate on the other side, on the back the best manufacturers indicate all the data. Pay attention to the Made in inscription, because if not the country is indicated, but technology / quality, these are only analogues of the originals. Or pay attention to the inscriptions on the unpacked packages.
Having decided on the shade, quality, we choose the most suitable appearance. The surface of the laminate is of several types:
Glossy
Semi-gloss
Matt
Embossed (Not recommended, overpriced and inconvenient)
With a decorative layer (I do not recommend it, except for an unusual look, it does not differ in anything remarkable)
Considering all these nuances, I chose a class 32 glossy laminate, with an optimal density, with perfect joints. I chose the Russian manufacturer KRONOSTAR. Paid for 20 packs, 30,000 rubles. The price is temptingly low, but the quality is worth it.
