An efficient storage method for garlic that keeps it stored until the next harvest.
Garlic is a very popular food in the kitchen. Housewives use it in a huge number of dishes, thanks to which they make food not only tasty, but also healthy.
Therefore, it is not even bad to have a certain supply of garlic at home, so that if necessary, you do not run to the store. Moreover, the garlic grown in your garden is much better than the store one.
Growing garlic is also not easy, but keeping it until spring is a very, very difficult task. But I have found an efficient way to store garlic and have not bought it in the store for several years.
You should think about how to preserve garlic for a sufficiently long period when it is still growing in the garden. It is important not to miss the time of harvest, because otherwise the garlic will be stored much worse.
Remember to cut both the roots and the stem, which should be at least 10 cm. After such simple manipulations, the garlic is completely ready for storage.
Now you need to choose a place where your crop will "winter". For example, I store garlic in cardboard boxes, in which holes are made to allow air to enter.
Then I put dry onion peels and garlic into a box. I alternate so that the heads of garlic are surrounded by husks on all sides.
I store the boxes of garlic in a dry, dark room: I have this pantry, in which there is an old cabinet with antrisols. This is where I put the containers with garlic.
Thanks to good air circulation and onion skins, garlic stays until spring and does not deteriorate at all.
