Getting self-compacting concrete of increased strength. Was surprised by the result of this supplement

To obtain greater mobility and concrete, plasticizers and superplasticizers are used. A well-known folk way is to add dishwashing detergent, liquid soap to concrete. Yes, there is an effect, I checked it when pouring slabs with a layer of polystyrene concrete for permanent formwork of the foundation. But how liquid soap affects the strength of concrete - there are many opinions.

I also used plasticizers from hardware stores. And there is an effect when using them. Concrete does not set so quickly, it becomes more plastic.

I share an example from personal experience. For myself, even in the process of pouring the basement tape on the foundation, I discovered an industrial additive in concrete (superplasticizer). Acquired to obtain concrete with increased strength:

The specialists answered that since the additive is a superplasticizer, then with better compaction of concrete (and with a smaller volume of water used), its strength will also increase:

This additive is purchased by many large builders. I added about half a glass to the volume of concrete in a concrete mixer 4 buckets of ASG. The effect was like this:

Mixed concrete as thick as possible (with minimal addition of water). When pouring, vibration with a deep vibrator is mandatory. After smoothing, further concrete settling took place, and water, tinted in the color of the additive, appeared on the surface. Those. concrete self-compacting with the removal of excess moisture from it. The amount of additive may need to be reduced slightly.

Excess water in concrete leads to a decrease in its grade even with a high cement content. After hydration, pores remain in the concrete, which lead to low frost resistance due to the absorption of rain and melt water into the concrete.

The very next day the concrete had increased strength than without the addition. In general, the effect of using, as always, is beyond expectations and is incomparable with other plasticizers.

But do not add plasticizers to the mortar for laying blocks - the mortar floats and the masonry simply will not work. Blocks or bricks are upset after laying, the level is lost. The solution should be the least mobile.
