Why grow roses: 10 reasons and personal experience
Six years ago, with great apprehension, I brought home the first rose sapling. Now there are 11 varieties in my garden, and this is just the beginning. Why do I love these flowers so much?
1. the beauty
In my opinion, roses are one of the most beautiful flowers. The perfection of the shape, the contrast between the lush greenery and the bright or delicate shades of the buds, the shape of the bush is the perfect solution for my garden.
2. A wealth of species
Hybrid tea, floribunda, climbing, shrubs - every gardener can choose what he needs. On my site there are hybrid tea roses, one self-rooted, one climbing and a completely new species for me - spray. These are small roses, from which bridal bouquets are often made.
3. Variety of colors
Very often, gardeners arrange flower beds in a certain color. The rose is irreplaceable here, because any artist will envy the flowering palette! If you order in a nursery or buy a seedling with blossoming flowers, then surprises are excluded.
4. Scent
Rose buds smell subtly, but very diverse: raspberry jam, lilies of the valley, ripe apricots and even moss.
5. Long bloom
Even in our climate, roses have at least two waves of flowering clearly distinguished. Moreover, in most of my bushes, both the first and second waves are equally abundant. The pink bud can bloom for up to two weeks!
6. Ease of care
Many gardeners might argue with me, but I really do consider the rose to be one of the easiest garden flowers to maintain. Watering, feeding, removing dry buds, pruning and sheltering for the winter are all I do during the season.
7. Reproduction possibility
The rose bush is easily propagated by cuttings. This one can even be done with roses from the flower shop as gifts!
8. Bouquets
Roses are great for cutting. You just need to choose varieties with a single arrangement of buds.
9. Winter resistance
There are a huge number of varieties that winter well in the middle lane. In my Ural garden, after wintering, during the entire breeding period, only one rose did not wake up!
10 unpretentious
Roses can grow both in the sun and in partial shade. Do not need daily watering. Many varieties are practically not susceptible to disease. The bush is able to bloom annually for 7-10 years.
Breed these beauties on your site, and they will delight you all summer!
