From which beds it is imperative to remove Dill, so as not to oppress other plants

I can't imagine how to do without dill in cooking in the summer. For a long time I have grown this fragrant plant wherever I have to: between the beds, along the garden paths, among the holes and even in the flower garden. But over time, I realized that I made a serious mistake, creating discomfort for other varieties.

More recently, I've come to the conclusion that the aroma of dill is a threat. Through the leaves and inflorescences, substances enter the air that have a destructive effect on my plantings.

The smell of dill attracts insects. They circle over the plant, sitting on the umbrella inflorescences. At the same time, growing cultures are not deprived of attention and nearby. And if dill is too fragrant for them, then tomatoes, celery and other inhabitants of the garden are to their taste.

Another reason for the sad outcome of the neighborhood is the developed root system of dill. It is filamentous and voluminous. Takes up a large area around the outside of the plant.

It takes a large amount of moisture and nutrients from neighbors. Less developed roots of other crops begin to dry out from a lack of valuable elements. The result is deplorable.

Having lost a whole bed of celery, I found out with whom this "destroyer" could coexist.

Allowed neighborhood:

● potatoes of any kind;

● red and white cabbage;

● beets;

● turnips;

● raspberries;

● peas;

● cucumbers of any varieties;

● leaf salad.

The crops listed here are not afraid of pairs, branchy roots of dill, which absorb nutrients from the soil, and so on.

But crops grow on our beds that cannot get along with the plant without harm to themselves.

Among them:

● cilantro;

● parsnips;

● carrots;

● tomatoes of any varieties;

● celery.

What is the maximum safe distance for planting dill from other crops? For myself, I decided that I would allocate a separate zone for the grass, at a distance of one and a half meters from other beds. This is the optimal distance so that the plantings do not interfere with each other.

Dill is the perfect seasoning for every dish. It decorates food in any form: fresh, dry or frozen. Therefore, on personal plots, not only I, but many other people grow this plant, everywhere.

Ignorance is no excuse. We are truly responsible for our harvest. In order to enjoy it to the fullest, it is important to study the principles of a competent neighborhood and plant dill where it belongs.
