How to feed strawberries in autumn to get an excellent harvest for the next year.
In order for you to have a rich strawberry harvest every year, you need to take care of this in advance.
The fact is that the future harvest of berries is laid in late summer or early autumn.
Strawberries begin to actively form buds and how many berries you can pick from a bush next summer depends on their number.
During the flowering and fruiting period, strawberries spend a lot of nutrients.
It pretty much empties the soil, from which it draws out literally all the juices.
To ensure a good harvest next season, you need to take care of feeding in the fall.
How and what is the best way to feed strawberries?
The most important trace elements that strawberries need are potassium and phosphorus.
Thanks to them, the plant strengthens the root system and acquires good immunity.
Based on this, we can conclude that it is best to feed strawberries with potassium-phosphorus fertilizer.
In order not to spend money on its purchase, you can use a natural substitute - wood ash, which contains trace elements necessary for strawberries.
In addition, ash perfectly protects plants from diseases and pests.
Wood ash can be used in two ways: dry or as an aqueous solution.
The first option is the simplest: you just need to scatter the ash in the aisles, and then sprinkle with water.
I usually do top dressing before rain, so as not to waste energy on watering.
For the second option, in addition to 300 g of ash, you can take two more tablespoons of nitrophoska, 30 g of potassium and pour all ten liters of water.
Pour strawberry bushes with this solution.
