Nuances without which the kitchen will not be the same! Or 6 steps to the perfect kitchen
Why do you want to spend time in some kitchens, while in others everything is annoying? Why on some the hostess deftly cooks three different dishes at the same time, while on the other she can barely cope with one? Let's see how a well-planned kitchen space differs from a not-so-successful one!
Good afternoon dear friends!
What do you think is the most important thing in the kitchen? A huge amount of modern technology? Fashionable design? Price? Big square? Not at all! The most important thing is convenience! Therefore, before you go to the store and order a new kitchen set, you need to think over everything to the smallest detail. Otherwise, alas, you will get a non-functional, uncomfortable space that does not meet modern realities.
So, so that you do not waste your time and money in vain and take into account in advance the nuances of the correct layout of the kitchen space, I also prepared this material.
1.Kitchen layout type. First of all, you need to analyze the shape, size and proportion of the room. And then, based on these parameters, choose kitchen furniture. For example, in a long, narrow room, it is more convenient to place the entire set along one wall, and the dining table near the other.
Another solution can be a corner set. But this is only if the area of your kitchen is at least 10 m2. It will occupy two walls, and the distance between cabinets, sink and stove will be minimal.
If you are lucky and your kitchen space is at least 15 m2 or the kitchen is combined with a living room, then you can safely consider the option of a U-shaped arrangement of furniture. It is placed along three sides or separates the kitchen space from the living room with a bar counter or an island. A very convenient option: there are many cabinets, everything you need is at hand, there is more than enough surface for preparing and serving dishes.
But the combined premises have their own special limitations. Kitchen furniture must be carefully selected so that it is 100% in harmony with the decor of the living room. You should definitely pay attention to the choice of silent household appliances and high-quality hoods. Culinary noises and smells are not always pleasant!
2.Working triangle rule. Before you start placing this or that cabinet and, of course, household appliances... take the time and measure the entire space, and then draw the layout on paper. Supply dimensions, location of outlets, water pipes and batteries. This will help you decide where to place your stove, sink and refrigerator. After all, they should be at a distance of one, maximum two steps.
And then combine these areas in the sketch with straight lines so that you get a triangle. If its sides are even and not too long, then your kitchen will be comfortable. What is extremely important for this room!
3.Ergonomics of space. It is equally important to maintain the correct distances between the headset, dining table and household appliances. Remember, the gap between them must be at least 1.2 meters. This will make it easy to open doors and drawers, move freely and move chairs. By the way, depending on the height of a person, some parameters vary: the height of the furniture (range from 75 to 90 cm), the height of the hanging cabinets (at least 50 cm above the worktop), the location of the hood (65-70 cm above the stove), etc. etc.
Finally, for safety reasons, try to keep a distance of 80 cm between the sink and the stove!
4.Filling the kitchen set. When choosing a trendy, bright headset, do not forget that it must be functional! For example, modern fittings allow you to do without handles, you can open the cabinet with one simple click. You will appreciate when your hands get dirty or they are busy with food. While closers on the doors will make the closing silent.
In addition, today standard cabinets are supplemented with built-in bread bins, open shelves for storing jars with all kinds of spices, drawers with compartments for placing kitchen utensils or corner shelves for utensils. Such furniture not only accommodates anything, but also makes access more comfortable.
5.Kitchen lighting. An extremely important nuance! Since the lack of lighting in the kitchen negatively affects not only the cooking process, but also health itself in general. Therefore, do not save money and place several small lamps plus one pendant on the ceiling. And then add functional lighting to the cooking area. You should have enough light both above the countertop and above the stove. This can be done using built-in "flashlights" or LED strip.
In addition, additional lighting will invariably add a decorative touch to the interior of the kitchen, making it more cozy and warm.
6.Appliances. Refrigerator, dishwasher, oven, microwave... The number and type of kitchen appliances, of course, depends not only on the size of the room, but also on your needs. Therefore, I recommend that you decide in advance: what kind of built-in or separately located equipment do you want to see in your kitchen?
Since individual household appliances allow for small rearrangements, accommodate more dishes, while the built-in one saves space.
