What features did we pay attention to when buying interior doors
If the house is being renovated, then naturally the doors also change, and not only the entrance, but also the interior doors. It would seem that there is nothing difficult in this, choose the ones you like, pay and you're done. But not everything is as simple as we would like. Before making a purchase, you need to pay attention to some features.
1. Colour. To begin with, you need to clearly understand what color scheme will prevail in the room, what color is the wallpaper, floor and even baseboards. Only when the palette is selected, then you can choose the color of the future door. In my house, light colors on the walls and brown floor prevail, so the choice was made in favor of a dark brown door. By the way, you should also pay attention to the fittings (handle), which should match the color of the door.
2. The size. There can be pitfalls here too. It is better not to save on this parameter and call a master who will correctly measure the doorway, especially since some firms provide a home visit service for a master completely free of charge, provided that the order is made from them. I advise you to take this opportunity so that you do not have to overpay in connection with the replacement.
3. Covering the door. There are various door coatings:
- the film is practical to clean, there are many textures.
- veneer - similar to solid wood doors, but much cheaper.
- paint - can be painted in any color, practical to use, but as for me they are out of fashion.
- glass - usually a combined coating (glass / film), they look quite interesting, there are a huge number of different designs. We bought just such a door, since the price / quality ratio suited it, and due to the presence of glass, they look impressive.
- solid wood - natural, environmentally friendly, durable, but very expensive.
4. Opening method. There are swing, sliding and folding. We chose swing doors, since this is the most popular type of doors, and although the apartment is small (some advised to choose folding ones), they still bought these, since they provide good sound insulation.
