Do-it-yourself warm slopes so that plastic windows do not blow and sweat from the inside
In our country, many people care about thermal insulation due to severe frosts and strong winds. Now almost everyone has plastic windows. Even if they function perfectly, the insulation of the slopes will not hurt in any case. And if it blows from under the window, even more so.
It happens that after installation, the window frame does not fit tightly to the slopes. Cracks are formed, which are foamed with polyurethane foam. Polyurethane foam has good thermal insulation properties, but it is afraid of sunlight and moisture. As a result, the foam undergoes destruction over time and loses all its protective properties.
House shrinkage, installation errors, improper care, can cause problems even with the most expensive, high-quality windows. Do not rush to change plastic windows, you can insulate in weak places and fix the problem.
The better to insulate the slopes
Thermal slopes (thermal angle)
Will be an excellent solution for those who want beautiful, warm slopes and do not spare money.
The finished corner pieces are made of special foam, 20 mm thick. The exterior is beautifully coated with marble chips and acrylic binder. This layer is durable but elastic. The coating does not crack or deteriorate. The rounded edges do not flap or crumble.
Plaster with painting without insulation
Not the best long term option. Small cracks, other problems do not lead to high-quality thermal insulation.
Styrofoam and penoplex
Inexpensive material has one drawback - over time, moisture accumulates inside the foam.
The material is cut into strips according to pre-measured dimensions. The thickness of the foam must be at least 20 mm. Then the surface is cleaned, the external window openings are treated with an antibacterial compound.
Next, special foam is glued. glue (thin layer). It is better not to use cement mixes. They become limp from moisture. This insulation will prevent condensation. After that, you need to make the surface mesh reinforcement. Place the perforated corner on the putty, level it. The final stage is a decorative coating (plaster, painted drywall, MDF, laminate, etc.).
Combined insulation
For example, to insulate the slopes, choose a mineral wool with sandwich panels. First, attach the foil insulation to the surface. Then put the U-shaped profile and fix the prepared pieces of the sandwich panel in it.
Fill the space between the wall and the panels with mineral wool.
