I renew the Raspberry every year in August and collect more and more large Berries. I share secrets that will be useful to all Summer residents
Good day, my dear readers. Today we will talk with you about raspberries, or rather, about what you need to do to make the berries grow more and more.
I will share with you valuable tips that will certainly come in handy for summer residents who want to improve their harvest. Do you want your raspberries to be large and tasty? Then do as I do.
So, the secret of a beautiful raspberry is very simple. It's just that I renew the raspberries every year. I do this of course in August, because even folk signs say that the raspberry is no longer bearing fruit and the best period is coming in order to give it a rest and gain strength for the next season.
If you still have doubts about the month, then think about it. Raspberries are picking up new shoots that will delight you next year. But they need time to get stronger and this needs to be done before the onset of frost.
If you renew the raspberries in August, the shoots will have time to become strong enough, survive any cold weather and in the summer they will delight you with large and juicy raspberries.
After I started pruning in August, I had twice as many berries. Surprisingly, when my mother-in-law gave me this advice, I did not believe that this method would increase the yield so much.
And now, from personal experience, I can share this simple advice with you. After all, I understand that raspberries are one of the most delicious berries, so every summer resident wants to grow an excellent harvest.
My work algorithm:
• In the beginning, I get rid of bushes that have served their time. This is an old raspberry that stops bearing fruit and takes up extra space on the site
• Then I start pruning the raspberries, leaving about five centimeters from the ground. If you leave a larger stump, you risk infecting it with fungus and other bacteria.
• If there are too many young shoots, this is not good. I delete unnecessary ones so that everyone has enough space. After all, optimal conditions and correct location are the key to delicious berries.
• Dry and weak shoots must also be removed. They will not bring a big harvest, and the berries on them are small and sour.
As you already understood, it is necessary to give life and space to young and strong shoots. It is they who will bring the highest quality berries. You can fertilize them after refurbishment.
This will make the soil more fertile. Remember to cover the bushes to keep moisture in the ground. It's so easy and simple to double your harvest and pamper yourself with a healthy berry.
