As the people say: the devil is not so terrible as he is painted. Here comes the participant FORUMHOUSE under the nickname Aswant, at the sight of the flooded area, he did not panic, but simply figured out the issue and did everything in his mind. At the same time, our hero had no experience in construction. What happened to him - read on.

Why this particular site

Three and a half years ago, my wife and I thought about buying land for building a house. A certain area was interesting, not far from the parents (they live in a private house). And somehow, by chance, a plot of land for sale was discovered right on their street. Something clicked in my head and it was decided to buy it.

What i bought

Here's what we have in fact: a dug pit (while the soil was taken out somewhere, but at the time of purchase I did not even attach any importance to it); the foundation is 70% filled (and, again, I didn't even think about its quality). I haven't checked to see if there is a pillow underneath, let alone reinforcement. I am attaching a photo, but what I ran into next, what I had to think about first of all, I will tell you.

Decision

The plot has been bought, joy is at heart, and the yard is the end of September. I am waiting for spring, at the same time I am beginning to think over, study and calculate the future construction. I immediately decide that construction is a breakdown into stages.

I planned the works as follows:

  • basement construction;
  • construction of the first floor;
  • the construction of the second floor (because of him I could not sleep - I was deciding whether it was needed);
  • roof.

Work

In general, with the onset of spring, the following picture awaited me: all the water from the street goes straight to my site. Well, I thought, it doesn't matter, I'll fill it up!

So let's get started:

  • It is necessary to clear the area of clay and debris. We tried to pick it up ourselves - it's very hard. As a result, I hire two Tajiks, who in 2 full days clear the site of all unnecessary things. These people continued to work for me.
  • I buy a concrete mixer for 220 liters, I call my father, father-in-law and brother for help, and in a few days we fill in the rest of the foundation. In addition, the base for the middle wall was poured.
  • I am calling all relatives and Tajiks to fill the armopoyas. Well, in fact, they also fill it in. Everything seemed to be successful.

Errors identified

Since there were no familiar builders, and I drew all my knowledge from the Internet, and also my father's "grandfathers did this," it was not without problems. I list briefly.

  1. Obviously my jamb, but so stupid: we did not look at the diagonals of the foundation... Not when they bought it, not when they started to top it up. The consequences came out only a year later.
  2. As I wrote above, after the foundation pit was dug, the former owners for some reason removed the soil. And it could be a good reason to bargain if I knew how much volume I would have to bring back.

But one way or another, the work has been completed and the construction of a house awaits me ahead. As a result, I was not spared the problem, but I needed this particular site. I do not regret anything!
