How to clean a frying pan of old fat and carbon deposits.

Once a friend was visiting me and she noticed that I prefer to use a Soviet-made frying pan for frying.

But it was not this that surprised her, but the fact that my antique dishes look like new.

I, of course, happily shared the secret that made it possible to turn a frying pan once covered with a perennial layer of fat into a relatively new thing.

In this article, I will show you how to prepare a wonderful solution with which you can easily get rid of layers of fat in your cast iron pan.

Before you start cleaning the pan, you need to remove the handle from it, if possible.

To clean one skillet, you need a large saucepan that can hold 5 liters of water and still have a little space.

Then we take baking soda (100 grams), the same amount of clerical or silicate glue and the same amount of mustard powder.

Put the pot with water on fire and bring to a boil. First of all, pour soda into boiling water and mix.

Then pour the glue there, mix again, and at the end add the mustard and mix thoroughly again.

Dip a frying pan into the mixture and leave to simmer over the fire for an hour.

After the specified time, remove the pan from the heat and carefully remove the pan.

The carbon deposits on the dishes will soften and can be easily removed with an ordinary knife.

If something else remains in the pan, then you should repeat the procedure and clean the dishes again, but use a metal washcloth or mustard powder.

Then take dishwashing liquid and a sponge and wash the pan thoroughly.

Try this method, which has been proven by more than one generation of experienced housewives and your pans will look like new!
