It's time to prepare a garden for winter garlic: what must you do now?

In the fall, I not only collect ripe vegetables, fruits and twists, but also prepare beds for winter garlic.

October is the most optimal time for planting, so I prepare the soil in advance, exactly one month in advance. The quality and quantity of the harvested crop will depend on these procedures.

Preparing the garden

I start activities with inspecting the soil, clearing it of weeds, crop residues, they can attract pests to the site, and also spread another infection.

In addition, with the onset of spring, they can germinate, which means they will take nutrients from the garlic.

After I treat the soil with biofungicide, I prefer Fitosporin, but you can use another suitable product. Simple prevention that does not take time, but in the spring you can not be afraid that fungi or infections will appear on the garlic.

As soon as the soil dries out, I start digging and loosening. Garlic favors light soil with good air permeability.

Then I add one of the following components to the beds:

· Fine sand;

· Compost;

· Sawdust.

All this will create a favorable environment for the germination of garlic. In addition, it will help the culture to successfully winter.

Mandatory fertilization

At the next stage, I lay fertilizer, it will saturate the soil with the necessary nutrients. I do this in advance so that they have time to "earn" before the cold snap.

I always add the following to my garlic beds:

1. Ash in the amount of one glass per m2, it delivers potassium and phosphorus in the required volume to the ground. In addition, the component will help neutralize acidity, as you know, garlic does not grow well in acidic soil.

2. I add humus during digging, about half a bucket takes me for 1 m2.

3. I definitely do the bait with minerals, in my opinion and experience, potassium salt, suphosphate and potassium sulfate work best. I take them for 1 tbsp. spoon, but I add it in turn, taking a break for a week.

4. After that I thoroughly moisten the soil, I do not regret the water for the earth to sink. In this case, my garlic stays at the top, without sinking deeper. In the spring it rises quickly, almost like the snow melts.

At the end, I cover all the beds prepared for planting garlic with agrofibre. That's all, after that I wait for the time and the right weather to plant the culture.

These simple and unsophisticated activities help me grow garlic, which all the neighbors envy. The heads are always large, the teeth are dense.
