Pour the armored belt in parts one by one or bring concrete and hire workers? Chose the third option

I mounted the armopoyas formwork and calculated the amount of concrete required: 2.46 m3. During installation, I thought about the options for pouring. I considered and evaluated two options:

1. Filling the armopoyas on your own.

At one time, in one daylight hours, pouring, mixing concrete alone will not work. After all, concrete must still be transferred, lifted in buckets, vibrated and smoothed over the surface. If you fill in partially, then according to my calculations I would fill two evenings on one side (or one day on one side). A total of 12 evenings including the interior walls.

Filling the armopoyas in parts is not the best option, because a seam is formed. If there is an increased load in this place, then it will be transferred to the walls. And the seam in the armored belt cannot be done in the openings.

But it was not this that confused me, but the amount of work. At cost, filling it yourself is the most inexpensive option. I have brought crushed stone and sand long ago, there is a concrete mixer. Costs - practically only cement (3.5 thous. rub.). You can deliver 3-4 bags in parts on your car.

2. Ordering a concrete truck and lifting concrete with assistants

Another option is to assemble a container from boards, cover it with polyethylene, order concrete in a mixer, drain it into a container and use the help of assistants to lift the concrete with buckets into an armored belt.

This work must be done in a maximum of three hours. Otherwise, the concrete in the container will grab and you will have to lay a semi-dry mixture in the armopoyas. And here everything depends on the quickness of the workers, how much they want to rush. There is a risk of not being in time, the concrete will set and some of it will have to be poured with self-weight concrete.

To facilitate the work, someone makes hoists (telphers) to lift concrete:

Such a crane-beam can be useful later, for lifting blocks to the second floor. But it needs to be made. This time and money (at least 15-20 thous. rub. including the cost of the electric winch).

I decided to focus on the option with hiring assistants and ordering concrete from the factory. In the organization with which I work, I agreed with two loaders from the warehouse.

But on the appointed day, they did not answer the phone. As it turned out later, they considered that the amount of work 20 m3, not 2.5 m3. I was also going with them quickly, in a couple of hours to make a container for concrete. It's not meant to be.

3. Filling the armopoyas with a concrete pump

The plan with workers fell through, and concrete has already been ordered. So by chance I made this decision. I called the factory and asked for concrete with a concrete pump. There were all free cars at the facilities, and the nearest free one came to me only at three in the afternoon:

A "mixer" drove up next. Only the order of concrete had to be increased from 2.5 m3 to 3 m3. Because some remain in the concrete pump. I poured it myself. An operator with a control panel from the concrete pump stood on the wall and moved the boom. There was no one to take photos and videos (although it was possible to ask the driver of the concrete truck). The process looked something like this:

Within an hour, the armopoyas was flooded. I vibrated it with a deep vibrator. But since the concrete was prepared at the plant for a concrete pump and had increased plasticity, then vibration was not really needed. Next - smoothing the surface. In some places it was necessary to top up or vice versa, remove excess concrete. It took at least 3 hours. The rest of the concrete was poured onto the foundation at the entrance. Approximately 0.5 m3. There was also concrete when washing the concrete pump - it was dumped at the entrance to the site. I leveled it along the track.

He planned to transfer the remains of concrete into forms for blocks. But before he could, the concrete grabbed. And until one o'clock in the morning I hammered (loosened) it with a crowbar and transferred it to forms. The blocks looked like vibropressed from the same semi-dry mixture. Buckets were also needed (optional):

These blocks will then come in handy as emptying devices in the porch and terrace.

The result was filmed the next day. And he made me happy. The armopoyas turned out to have a flat horizontal surface. No wonder he smoothed and took him out for so long. Then blocks will be laid on the mineral glue (and not on the solution due to irregularities). And the floor slabs will lie smoother.

Costs: concrete M250 with delivery: 14,700 rubles. (of which 4000 rubles. - delivery). Concrete pump: 13,500 rubles. Total: RUB 28,200 Yes, it's expensive. But I have no regrets. The speed, the quality of the concrete, the armored belt poured at a time - everything is worth it. Of the minuses of pouring concrete with a concrete pump - splashes and stones fly to the floor, there were smudges on the inside of the walls.

Next - an article about the purchase, delivery and installation of floor slabs.
