How I rejuvenate Cucumbers in early September and harvest a great Harvest before the fall frost
Cucumbers are a thermophilic plant, and by the end of August they wither and, starting to hurt, dry up. This is the law of nature and you cannot fight it. But I rejuvenate the cucumbers in early September, and harvest until the very cold.
I did not engage in the struggle with nature, but I decided to try to help the cucumbers. Well, who doesn't want to crunch a cucumber in September?
I say in advance - I managed to prolong the fruiting of cucumbers until the first frost. Now I am sharing my experience.
When planting, cucumbers are allocated a sunny open area. In autumn, this fact plays an important role.
Consider what weather conditions we are dealing with in September:
· Sunny, warm days;
• cold, often damp nights;
· Reduction of daylight hours.
Based on these main factors, I performed several tricks that helped rejuvenate the cucumber lashes.
First of all, I made a revision of all cucumber plants. I carefully removed completely old and almost dried lashes completely - from the root (there are fewer plants in the row, there is more space).
Then I carried out a rejuvenating pruning of each plant left:
· Removed the lower and excess leaves;
· Cut off the stepchildren who have completely fertile;
• pinched the top on the remaining shoots.
The next stage is feeding. For rejuvenation, the bushes need new strength, therefore, they need to be fertilized.
The recovery is facilitated by magnesium dressing - 1.5 g of magnesium was diluted in three liters of water and such a volume was poured under each bush. Time consuming, I admit it, but worth it. The plant takes on a healthy look, the cucumbers become juicy - green.
Attention! I share a proven recipe for rejuvenating cucumbers in the fall:
1. Milk 250 ml.
2. Potassium permanganate 100 ml raspberry color (on the tip of a knife).
3. Urea 1 tsp l.
4. Boric acid (powder) in a 7 ml syringe.
5. Iodine 30 drops (pipette).
Mix all ingredients and add 5 liters of water. I spray from a small spray bottle. The surface of the leaves is well wetted, thanks to the milk, the solution does not slide off the treated surface.
We process evenly.
You, of course, understand that foliar feeding in autumn alone cannot be done. Root is also needed. I fertilize with an infusion of wood ash - 1 glass per 10 liters of water. I apply top dressing after watering, the ground should be wet.
In conclusion, I would like to give some more tips. Be sure to mulch the ground under the cucumbers (daytime heat will go away more slowly at night).
Cover the cucumber patch with agrofibre on very damp and cold nights.
Well, that's all my simple advice.
Have a nice autumn!
