How to independently pour a reinforced concrete slab, features of construction work, installation of a structure
I purchased a land plot on which there was already a semi-finished basement floor. I had to adapt to the existing dimensions of the box, so after laying the floor slabs in an opening was formed in one place, on which it was impossible to put a standard reinforced concrete design.
I found a way out of this situation by deciding to independently make a plate for the dimensions I needed. Before starting work, I studied the technology of pouring monolithic concrete products, learned about the rules for reinforcing such structures, since this slab, located in the corridor, will constantly receive large physical load.
The process of manufacturing a floor slab with non-standard dimensions included several stages:
- I fixed a channel to two parallel slabs, thanks to which I got a well-defined frame of the future structure.
- I installed reinforcement along the entire perimeter of the opening, along and across, having received squares of equal size. The functions of such a mesh are to give the concrete structure more strength.
- He designed the bottom of the opening with wooden boards and plywood, thus creating a formwork that prevents the outflow of cement mortar.
- I installed logs in the basement so that they would support the bottom of the reinforced concrete slab from below during the entire period of concrete hardening.
- After completing the preparatory work, I proceeded to pour the concrete mixture into which I added fine gravel.
The monolithic structure hardened for 2 weeks, during which no physical impact was exerted on it. After the concrete had dried and acquired its technical properties, I dismantled the formwork.
