What I have grown from the seeds of the shop pepper, which I sown in February

This year, I decided to sow seeds for seedlings from purchased peppers, which I purchased in February in a store. I read a lot of positive reviews on the Internet about the results of growing this vegetable.

The store peppers are very attractive and large in appearance. It was hard to believe that the same "handsome men" would grow up in the greenhouse. I heard that if hybrids come across, then some "freaks" can grow out of them.

In the store in the winter I bought 2 pieces of cuboid sweet peppers: red and yellow. The seeds separated well because the fruits were already overripe.

Before planting, I kept the peppers for another week on the windowsill. The removed seeds were disinfected in Chlorhexidine for 20 minutes, then washed and left to dry on a paper towel.

I sowed several pieces in grooves to a depth of 1 cm in pre-prepared soil, which I purchased from a gardening store. I watered the crops and covered them with a plastic bag, then put them in a warm place for germination.

I really hoped that I had come across a varietal pepper, it should retain the parental characteristics. Hybrids can produce crops as well, but they may not grow as expected.

I also heard that excellent peppers are obtained from fresh seeds or from those that have been lying for 3 years.

ReviewsfromInternet users

Here's what Internet users write about store peppers:

VeraIvanova writes: “I grew peppers from these seeds (both fresh and dry seeds). I liked the result, but the seeds from the peppers bought in the store may not be lucky - very poor germination and the result is not the same as in the picture. "

TatyanaPerepelitsyn shares his experience:

“I grew purchased peppers, there was a harvest, but little ovary. Apparently there was a hybrid pepper. But a beautiful garden. Multi-colored ".

LydiaRevdova writes:

"This year I planted from store peppers, the fruits were better than from bags."

LudmilaPeshina shares experience:

“I grew it from shop pepper seeds and was happy with the result. Much more depends on weather conditions. Not every summer is fruitful for pepper. "

I was pleased with the harvest of purchased peppers. It almost turned out pepper as in the store, cuboid shape. The peppers were juicy and large on the palate. So the experiment was successful.

After reading many reviews of gardeners and summer residents, we can conclude that after sowing the seeds of store peppers, peppers of the declared form are most often obtained.

F2 hybrids may have some differences, but they are subtle. But if we take hybrid seeds of the second generation, then the peppers lose their parental qualities. Therefore, "freaks" can grow up.

If you come across varietal peppers, then their fruits inherit the parental qualities in subsequent generations completely.
