How to inexpensively align a curved ceiling with putty
I will honestly say that ceiling putty for painting - it's not a sweet thing, and even when the price of work is normal, I still cannot develop attachment to it. And I would not recommend it because of the complexity, tediousness and harmfulness. To properly spat the ceiling, regardless of the complexity and cost, a kilogram of patience and a good supply of lung health are required. Why?
Not everyone is able to putty the shelves with gypsum plaster for many hours with a vertical load on the spine, and only a few can bring out the ideal plane. I consider myself one of those who strive to simplify the technology and do so that visually everything looks very decent, although it is not necessary to bring the result to the ideal in most cases, especially when this is not expected and require.
On first shot the differences between the floor slabs are obvious, which, when applying a layer of starting plaster, makes it necessary to adapt.
To smooth out the most noticeable ceiling irregularities in the first 0.5-0.7 meters the entire width of the room (photo 2), and across the entire width of its plane, I apply a layer of gypsum plaster under the rule - long aluminum rail.
Consistently tightening the excess filler with the rule, it turns out to achieve an even line of intersection of the wall and ceiling in a small area, and then, along the rest ceiling, the degree of alignment is smoothly lowered to such an extent that visually it is not detected when looking at the ceiling, both with the lighting on and without him.
This method helps to significantly speed up work and reduces material costs. The thicker the layer, the longer it dries. With smooth smoothing of irregularities, the reduction of the layer within reasonable limits is not noticed by the eyes and it seems that the ceiling is an ideal monolithic plane.
There are, of course, some nuances of performing such work, but the effect of an even and flawless ceiling is achieved in most cases.
The same maneuver is performed on the opposite side of the ceiling for alignment. After the last layer of putty has dried, the ceiling must be sanded with fine sandpaper or a sanding mesh, which requires the use of a respirator or other lung protection. It is this stage of work that makes me think about its cost and feasibility of implementation.
In general, after evenly painting with a roller using a water-based paint, irregularities cannot be noticed until a rule is applied to the ceiling. But this usually does not happen, since everything looks great anyway.
I practice this method when I understand that the best result will not be appreciated at its true worth, or they do not even think about the ideal plane.
What can you say about this approach in business?
