Why anchor (pull together) floor slabs? Photo report of my work

According to SNiP II-22-81 (paragraphs 6.35-6.39), it is necessary to tighten the floor slabs with reinforcing ties. Or in other words - anchor. Everywhere the explanation is this: to prevent the displacement of floor slabs.

But the slabs are laid on the mortar (huge friction at rest), the seams are poured between them to form a continuous concrete field. There are walls around the entire perimeter, which are also under the load of the second floor. And the horizontal displacement of the slabs with any deformations, undermining of the foundation is simply impossible.

Another highly unlikely cause in non-seismically active areas is rare strong earthquakes that can destroy a structure. And if there are screeds in the slabs, then this will prevent the collapse of some of them when the corner of the structure is destroyed.

They don't write about this in plain text, but as I understood, this is the point. Prevent the slabs from falling off the armored belt in the event of a strong earthquake, destruction of part of the walls or the roll of the structure.

He did not deviate from these rules in construction. You never know what will happen during the existence of the house - 60-80, and maybe 100 years. Photo report on the work done:

Anchored to the wall with reinforcement with a bend. The strobes were made with a milling cutter. For screeds, I used a smooth reinforcement with a diameter of 6 mm. But since according to the rules, it is recommended to use reinforcement with a diameter of at least 10 mm, then I did two rods. The result is a cable effect.

The cable is difficult to break due to the many strands and wires inside it. In a solid metal structure of the same diameter, with the appearance of the smallest crack, the cable would break and would never withstand such loads.

Anchoring to walls made of aerated concrete is doubtful, but the walls can take on some load with a possible shift. The armature was bent with a pipe. In the places of attachment to the hooks inside the plates, I had to suffer.

To attach the ties without backlash and for a more reliable attachment to the plates, I decided to weld the connections:

He welded the ends of the ties and bent them with a hammer. Cooked for the first time. The welding machine was purchased for these works. I have long wanted to do it, but I used to get out of the situation when I needed it. This seemingly simple job took several evenings.

Then he filled the voids inside the slabs with scraps of aerated concrete. It is necessary so that as little solution as possible falls through, flows into the side voids of the plates. To fill only the sites at the reinforcement attachment points.

I filled everything with solution. Next - filling the joints between the plates. A lot of solution is needed here. Many of the joints are narrow, but pouring one between the wall and the side of the slab took more than a bucket of mortar to fill. And in the seam in the center - I decided to use scraps of aerated concrete as a filler:

There remains a wide area between the plates, in which the chimney will pass. I decided to leave its filling for the next year, tk. will soon be frosty night. Antifreeze additive is a way out, but it is better for concrete to gain strength in the warm season.

The next stage is the laying of the first row of the second floor.
