How to install a metal post on a finished strip foundation: instructions
It happens that the tape under the fence is already ready, but you have to make changes. For example, install sliding gates instead of swing gates and move the pillars. What to do, break the foundation? Not at all, you can install the embedded part on a chemical anchor and weld a post onto it.
How to install a mortgage on a chemical anchor?
- Select the embedded part - it should be a metal plate 4–5 mm thick. The size of the mortgage must exceed the cross-section of the post: for example, if a professional pipe 80 * 80 mm is used for the rack, the mortgage must be 200 * 200 mm.
- Mark and drill five holes on the embedded part: four in the corners - 20 mm from the edges; one in the center. The holes must be designed for the M10 - M12 stud. Stud length - 150 mm.
- Attach a mortgage to the point where you plan to install the post and mark the holes in the concrete. Drill holes in the foundation approximately 100 mm deep.
- Blow out dust from the holes, add a chemical anchor, install the stud into the hole until it stops. Wait 30 minutes. When working with a chemical anchor, you must follow the instructions exactly!
- After the specified time has elapsed, install the embedded part on the studs and tighten the nuts.
- Next, you need to install the post and weld it. Stud nuts can also be welded to secure the mortgage. But this should be done only if the dismantling of the structure is not provided in the future.
Advantages of a mortar on a chemical anchor
There are two obvious advantages to this method:
- as indicated above - no need to destroy the foundation;
- speed of work - the pole can be welded in half an hour after the installation of the embedded part.
Where else is this method used?
Installation of a mortgage on a chemical anchor can be used both on horizontal surfaces and on vertical concrete and other surfaces: brick or aerated concrete wall. This method will help you hang heavy objects or equipment on the walls.
