DIY fence made of corrugated board: we live in the forest, but we build from iron

Participant FORUMHOUSE under the nickname karmanov-vlad fenced off the site with a fence made of corrugated board. He had no experience in this matter, but the fence turned out to be of good quality. How the work went - read on. Don't forget to like and subscribe to the channel!

The old fence fell into disrepair, had to be changed

The site celebrates its 20th anniversary this year; active construction began 4 years ago. During this time, the lags of the facade rotted, the boards fell out and it was necessary to do something with the fence. The question arose: what kind of fence to build - a wooden one on concrete posts or on iron ones.

Having traveled to hardware stores, having studied all the prices, having thought through everything thoroughly, I found out that the most expensive fence will be wooden, although we literally live in the forest. And the Komi forests are included in UNESCO as the most intact forests in Russia. It is a paradox - it is much cheaper to bring building materials from the neighboring Kirov region.

Having decided on the type of fence, I went online and came across one option. I really liked how the author described and showed everything in detail. I took this option as a basis.

Then he proceeded to implement the plan: he bought S-10 corrugated board already cut to size. At the same time, I ordered a gate with a wicket from the professionals, as I have never done this. Even before the delivery of the corrugated board, the gates were already ready - they were put together with the father-in-law.

How the work went: poles and lintels

I have had pipes on posts since 1995 - these are gas pipes, weaving diameter, 4 meters long, 4 mm thick wall. They were cut in half by welding. I used welding for the first time in my life, so I didn't succeed very well.

When the pillars were ready, I cleaned them with a metal brush to a shine, degreased and painted, but not completely, but somewhere around 1.2-1.5 m, that is, painted over what I planned to bury. I painted with light gray paint for metal. I wanted to match the inner color of the profiled sheet, but I couldn't find exactly that color.

On the next weekend, I marked out where the pillars would be dug in and started drilling holes. There were 10 of them. Drilled slowly. Since the site is inclined, he buried the pillars to a depth of 70 cm to 120 cm. It took half a day to do this.

The next day I started welding the jumpers. Used a profile pipe 40 * 20 * 2. It took from 10 to 25 minutes to weld one bulkhead, and from an hour to an hour and a half for a span. In total, I welded 2 days off. After that, the wife painted the pillars and lintels.

Final: hanging a profiled sheet and adding

On the next weekend, we began to hang the corrugated board. Since the site is going downhill, we had to go by steps, but we faced a problem: when the screws were tightened, their caps were torn off. In order not to drill through everything, but to leave the screws inside the profile pipe, I cut them off with a grinder, then I drilled the profile and screwed them in there.

At the end of the work, he poured slag under the fence, and poured out and leveled sand Kamaz at the level of the gate. In order not to wash away the sand, I sowed the lawn grass. I hope that everything will grow together.
