One-storey brick house in the old style: you need to build as in the old days, not semi-antique!
This beautiful house with garage and boiler room party FORUMHOUSE under the nickname Greider built in the historic part of the city. "It is respectful when a person seeks to maintain the historical appearance of buildings in his region and does not take into account the costs of this process," wrote other members of the forum. It really commands a lot of respect, and it's also beautiful.
Why in the old style?
The house was conceived as a guest and household block for technical creativity, as well as for temporary residence during the construction and shrinkage of the main wooden house. The house was built with great attention to the proportions and texture of the material. The owner, a great lover of historical buildings, was inspired by a real old house.
House characteristics
- It was built from a ceramic block on a warm mortar and faced with a solid brick of the Tula plant with a 2 cm ventilation gap, the facing was laid on a super-white mortar.
- The height of the house was chosen so as not to limit the panorama from the second floor to the neighbors.
- The foundation is tape, the owner refused the basement, only a small cellar under the boiler room.
Zest
"If I put plastic double-glazed windows into this house, it will be a failure." But modern wooden windows made of Euro-profile did not fit either, because they are cut from a bar of the same thickness, despite the size of the glazing. The windows were made by an exclusive order.
Another very important point is roofing materials. Modern ones would immediately issue a remake in a bad sense of the word, so there was only one option left: sheet metal and a rebate.
And from hand-molded bricks in favor of the usual corpulent Greider refused for the same reason: too deliberately, "new-made". The owner realized that for a good result it is necessary to do not "antique", but "as in the old days."
