How I formed the crown of my Money Tree. Step-by-step instruction
The lush crown of the money tree is a real highlight of the interior, especially if it is made with elements of oriental style. But many beginners and more or less experienced flower growers ask themselves the question: how to properly form the crown in order to do everything right and not harm the plant?
I am sharing with you a step-by-step instruction that helped me a lot in my time.
· Choosing the right pot. The ideal pot for growing a future money tree is wide, flat and heavy, by no means deep. It should be slightly wider than the estimated diameter of the future crown. The bottom of the pot should be lined with a drainage layer.
· Choosing the right soil. This does not apply to crown formation directly, but it is very important for the good condition of the plant, otherwise it will simply grow poorly and slowly. It is best to buy a special soil for cacti and succulents.
· It is important to remember the rule: one pot = one shoot. Several plants in the same pot at once will only interfere with each other, will not grow lush and beautiful, and will not be able to fully grow. Therefore, you should not save containers and soil, plant trees separately.
· We are not cutting off a very young fat woman yet. It follows pinch. To do this, examine your plant carefully when three to four pairs of leaves grow on it.
In between, you will find the first new kidney. It must be very carefully pinched off with clean hands or cut off with nail scissors treated from bacteria. The main thing is not to damage the leaves.
· When the plant has already grown, we begin to cut it. To do this, carefully examine the tree. We look at which branches do not fit the selected form.
We cut them off very carefully and gradually. The cut should be located a couple of cm above the kidney. When cutting very small branches, try to keep the cut flush against the trunk.
You don't need to process them later - let them dry on their own. Try to leave very small leaves on the tips of the branches.
Don't try to shape your plant in one go. Gradual pruning contributes to the formation of a beautiful and lush crown.
If you do everything right, over time your money tree will become exactly the shape you dream of.
