A harsh canine life or what is not worth building a booth from Photo collection and tips
Often, when a house is built, there are many unclaimed building materials that go to build a house for a four-footed friend. Pet comfort is a good thing, but you need to build correctly. See a selection of interesting booths, get ideas and remember tips. Don't forget to like it!
Booths made of brick, stone or building block
Stone is not the best material for building a doghouse. It looks, of course, gorgeous, and it will perfectly fit into the exterior of the house. But, it is worth understanding that for our native winters such a building must be insulated from the inside.
You cannot put heating in such a booth, but you can effectively reduce heat loss. To do this, you need to make a curtain or thick fabric, and trim the floor and walls inside with eco-friendly insulation. Old warm clothes are perfect.
When insulating housing for quadrupeds, it is categorically impossible to use EPS or polystyrene - these materials emit toxic substances when heated. This won't happen in winter, but under the summer sun, the booth will quickly fill with toxic styrene.
There are also completely atypical buildings. For example, from glass bottles. How comfortable it is for the animal remains a question, but the view is funny. You might think that the pet of an elite alcoholic lives here. Well, if it's no joke, then you should understand that glass and concrete in the absence of heating are very cold materials.
Traditional, wooden booths
Dog houses are traditionally built from wood. This material is warm and environmentally friendly. But here, too, there are some nuances.
It is not recommended to build a booth from coniferous wood. It has a beneficial effect on a person, easy evaporation of essential oils, and a dog's scent may disappear! And what kind of guard is she without this important canine tool?
And also, do not use roofing material for the roof of the booth, or the remnants of some kind of fused roof - these materials can also damage the scent of the most reliable and loyal guard. It is impossible to build housing for a four-legged pet out of anything!
When insulating or decorating wooden booths, you should not use the remains of plastic siding, mineral wool. There is absolutely no need to paint the booth with toxic enamels or cover it with odorous varnishes. To give the wood a beautiful look, it is better to use natural oil, such as linseed oil.
Some of the photographs show windows. Does the dog need them? No! It is important for the animal to feel a safe shelter, and not to admire the views of the nearby territory.
But the second floor in the dog's apartment can be done. Quadrupeds like to climb higher. Here, as they say: I sit high - I look far away!
