How my life changed when I moved to a private house from an apartment

How to move from city to country. Moving stories, what difficulties we had to face. On the pros and cons of suburban life.

I moved to a private home when I was seventeen years old. That year, we buried my grandfather, and decided to exchange their apartment with my grandmother and our "three-ruble note" for a two-story house outside the city. Grandma settled with us. I lived in that house for the next six years of my life - while I was finishing school and receiving my diploma.

Now, for the second year I have been living and working in another region. But, as soon as I have the opportunity, I come to the city of my happy childhood and spend a week or two in our house. This housing is dear to me more than all the apartments in which we lived before and my current rented housing. And there are several reasons for this ...

Here I prepared for the final exams, prepared notes and essays, wrote a diploma, experienced difficult and happy moments of my youth and just became an adult and self-sufficient person.

Our house is located in a beautiful suburb. Despite the isolation from the city, there are quite a few grocery and hardware stores, including leading supermarket chains. The microdistrict is located on a hill from which you can see half of the city and a reservoir, called our local "sea".

What is the difference between living in a private house and living in an apartment? In answering this question, I can assure you that my answer will be in favor of the first option. Therefore, I would rather immediately note the negative aspects, since there will be an abundance of positive ones.

The disadvantages of living in a private house are such factors as: isolation from the rest of the city and problems with moving by bus; the constant need to travel to the center, since the main infrastructure is still there; regular snow removal in winter; mowing grass and weeds near the site.

This concludes my list of negative points. Of the advantages, I can note - beautiful views, the ability to walk in nature, have barbecues right in the backyard, not leaving somewhere out of town, and the ability to turn on and off the heating when it is convenient, thanks to its own boiler.

Arriving at a country house, a person returns to the measured rhythm of life after a hectic day at work. He will not be bothered by such factors as squabbles with neighbors at the entrance, the congestion of a small adjoining parking lot, an elevator breakdown, or a malfunction of the plumbing system.

All that awaits a person at home is a green view from the window, households and pets. It so happened that along with the purchase of a house, the number of pets in our house began to grow exponentially. But in the end we decided to limit ourselves to two dogs and two cats.

Pets also have a place to walk, and being in nature and fresh air is only beneficial to them, since the animal does not spend round the clock in four walls.

I can say that moving to a private house has radically changed my life and its image. Now I really miss that time, since I live within the city and nature is in short supply here - around factories, panel houses, garages, and so on... But I strive for the life that I had and I think that I will be able to achieve it. And now it remains to be content with weekends and holidays, for which I go to my parents' house.
