October - it's time to feed the Decembrist with boric acid for Lush flowering. I tell you how to do everything right
Friendship with the Decembrist did not work out for me - despite the use of the most expensive fertilizers, the plant stubbornly refused to bloom magnificently.
All I was able to achieve was the appearance of several small flowers that quickly fell off.
Desperate to see the bushes in all their beauty, I went to extreme, as it seemed to me, measures - I tried to feed them with boric acid. Now you will find out how it all ended!
Preparation of boric acid-based fertilizer
The main condition for the abundant flowering of the Decembrist is the correct preparation of top dressing. If you add too much boric acid, you get a lush bush - the plant will actively grow greenery. Reduce dosage - you will be disappointed to see poor flowering.
Boric acid can be purchased both in ampoules and in the form of a powder - I did not see any difference in the effect on the plant. My opinion is that it is more convenient to use powder.
Feeding preparation:
1. Pour water into the bucket in advance, leave to stand for 1-2 days.
2. Add boric acid (proportions - only 1 g of the drug per liter of water).
3. Mix well - the drug should completely dissolve.
Use immediately - even during prolonged storage, some of the nutrients evaporate.
How to fertilize correctly - useful secrets
There are two options for applying top dressing. I usually apply fertilizer by foliar method. The fertilizer is quickly absorbed by the Decembrist and starts working immediately.
Little secret - pre-arrange the plant with a warm shower or simply wipe it with a damp sponge. Dust on the leaves prevents the penetration of beneficial elements.
You can use boron fertilizer for irrigation. Pre-moisten the soil with warm water - if you apply fertilizer to a dry substrate, you can burn the roots.
I advise you to fertilize every 10 days. For tying abundant buds, 2-3 fertilizer applications are enough. I recommend using boric acid in October - the Decembrist will have enough time to set buds.
Another little secret - never water or spray with top dressing during the daytime. Even if the Decembrist is standing on a shaded windowsill, it is better to do it in the morning or evening.
If you use my advice, then be sure - in winter your Decembrist will delight you with an abundant "cap" of flowers. The flowering time will also pleasantly surprise you - I noticed that after applying top dressing with boric acid, they are significantly prolonged!
