Jigsaw attachment and reciprocating saw for electric drill. Does it make sense to buy?
In the early 90s, when the country did not yet have such an assortment of power tools, our industry produced an attachment for an electric drill - a pendulum saw or a jigsaw attachment:
The nozzle was suitable for most electric drills produced at that time (for a drill neck with a diameter of 43 mm). The nozzle could cut a small board, plywood. The kit included a clamp, with which it was possible to clamp the nozzle on the table (upside down with the blade) and cut out something with manual movement of the workpiece. Also included were guides for controlling the cut parallel to the edge of the board. You can still find them in advertisements for sale. Even new ones, albeit 1991-92. release. Prices: 300-500 rubles.
Now, a new multi-mode jigsaw can be purchased for 1,500 rubles. And, it would seem, the need for such attachments has disappeared. But, imagine, your power tool is in an apartment, but at a dacha or a plot you had to cut something inside, saw off a pipe, and it is not always comfortable to saw a dozen boards with a hand hacksaw.
Chinese manufacturers have long mastered the production of similar attachments for drills:
This attachment is a cross between a reciprocating saw and a jigsaw attachment. Rather, they can be used as a saw (suspended) and as a jigsaw (with an emphasis on the surface). Fantastic efficiency should not be expected. I read negative reviews of those who wanted them to quickly saw branches with a screwdriver when pruning trees. Firstly, it is not entirely inconvenient, and secondly, there is vibration when working on weight and a small amplitude.

Some models are sold in Russian online stores:
But not all of them are universal. There is a jigsaw attachment for the BLACK + DECKER MT218KB-QW screwdriver with the MultiEvo attachment system. She only approaches him. The review was here: 9-in-1 interchangeable screwdriver
To complete the picture, you need to watch video reviews. Here's one like this - in a short video:
As it is clear from the video, for more or less confident work, a powerful drill with high speeds is needed for the attachment. It is not suitable for working with a screwdriver. Although, you can use it as an attachment for cutting metal pipes (if there is no grinder at hand or the electricity is turned off). And then, it is better to clamp the pipe in a vice and rest against the workpiece with the nozzle. Saw off something wooden faster with a hand hacksaw. Who bought a similar attachment - write your review in the comments.
