The old radiator does not heat up so much, despite the replacement of a new gas boiler. Subtleties of replacing heat supply pipes in a private house
Replacing a heating radiator is one of the least common types of work. Often, in a private house, the system is installed once and for all. However, if the pipes do not heat, and flushing them or installing a new gas boiler does not help, then replacing the batteries cannot be avoided.
Poor operation of heaters jeopardizes your health, interior decoration of the home, so timely replacement heating elements - this is an opportunity to save the room from repeated expensive repairs, and yourself from sick leave.
Removing the old battery
A favorable period for starting work comes in the summer, when the house does not require regular heating. Before proceeding with the dismantling of the batteries that have served their life, drain the remaining water in the system.
A grinder will help in dismantling the old, rotten structure. Cast iron pipes are heavy, so do not try to earn a hernia, but invite a friend or neighbor on the site to help remove them and take them out into the street. If you hand over the cut off heaters to the ferrous metal collection point, then they will benefit in the form of 800-1000 rubles.
Installing a new radiator
Modern bimetallic sectional radiators are also hung on the wall, after which locksmiths proceed to connect them to the system and loop them back to the boiler. Remember that it is unnatural to mount polypropylene pipes on cast iron batteries. However, thermoplastics do well with common aluminum radiators.
Be sure to install a valve at the entrance. Linseed thread and sealing paste will help to avoid leaks at the threaded connection. They will ensure the tightness of the structure.
We avoid all sorts of bends and contractions - the diameter of the pipes must remain unchanged. Otherwise, the heat supply to the home will suffer.
Please note that for stable circulation of the system, the lower branch pipe is slightly inclined downward, and the upper one, on the contrary, upward. Maintain the angle of inclination. The technology will eliminate air congestion. The pipe from the tap to the boiler is best connected to the system by welding. The weld is less prone to leakage.
On the "return" we put a sump, which will get rid of the ingress of debris. We pressurize the system by filling it with water and check the joints for leaks.
