In the autumn-winter period, any heat loss is noticeably felt. Doors, especially wooden ones, often play an important role in this.

Under the influence of humidity and temperature changes they deform during operation and between the frame and the door leaf along the perimeter small gaps are formed.

And if in the summer period of time, the heat loss through these small cracks is almost invisible.

It costs the outside temperature to drop to subzero temperatureshow cold air is felt to enter the house even with the door closed.

It is expensive to "heat the street", so I decided to reduce heat loss as simply as possible, but at the same time effectively. How? Consider below.

When heat is lost through the gaps between the door frame and the leaf, the easiest way is insulate the opening.

You can do it simply and easily in a way that I saw as a child in the house of my great-grandfather.

To insulate the opening, we need felt. This natural material retains its thermal insulation properties for many years.

In our case, we will take the bootleg from the old felt boots and cut them into strips 4 cm wide.

Then we apply these strips close to the doorway and nail them with nails gradually moving along the perimeter of the box.

The door must be closed.
The door must be closed.

As a result in just 20 minutes it turned out to be effective enough to reduce heat loss. Although, of course, it is desirable to also insulate the door itself.
