The bottom of the barbecue burned out. I show you how I helped my friend extend the life of his barbecue for several more years.
Many can no longer imagine rest in the country without barbecue and other dishes cooked on coals in the grill.
This is understandable after all, barbecue cooking has already become a kind of good tradition.
But frequent use of the barbecue inevitably leads to its wear and tear.
Therefore, when a friend asked to repair the brazier a little, he decided to help him without any questions.
According to him, the problem was insignificant, just a small hole in the bottom.
I collected the necessary tools and went to help.
Seeing the state of the barbecue, at first I thought that he was joking and offered to hand it over to scrap metal.
But as it turned out, ohI really wanted to repair it, since the grill was cooked especially for him and was dear as a memory.
Since he had already promised to help his friend, he decided not to give up his words.
Upon examination, it became immediately clear that the bottom of the barbecue needed to be changed. The iron is badly burned out.
But the frame itself, although rusty, can still serve.
The first step was to remove the legs from the barbecue, and using a grinder cut the bottom.
With the help of a tape measure, he took off the dimensions of the frame and went with a friend in search of a suitable material for making a new bottom.
In addition to the unsightly-looking bottom from the old 2.5 mm thick oven, nothing suitable was found.
Therefore, he decided to use it for repairs.
On the found piece of iron I applied a marking, and with the help of a grinder I cut off excess parts from it.
Then he “removed” the rust around the perimeter of the grill bottom with a grinder.
Then he placed the workpiece in the brazier and using a welding machine fixed it with potholders (welding points).
It turned out not quite aesthetically pleasing, but the grill will definitely serve for a couple of years.
Would you start to repair the grill in this state?
