More recently, during another medical examination at the hospital, my grandmother was diagnosed with diabetes mellitus, and her menu changed dramatically, before she was very fond of sweet and fatty foods. One of the constant foods in her diet was lard, because it is very nutritious and delicious. But I wondered if it was possible to eat fat at all with such an illness. Will it harm your grandmother's health or, on the contrary, will it benefit?
The benefits of lard
It turned out that there is really a lot of benefits in this product, even for a person with diabetes.
For example:

- Strengthens the antitumor functions of the immune system;

When and how much fat should be consumed so as not to harm yourself
With diabetes mellitus, the dose of fat should not exceed 30 g. in a day. The best time to consume this product is in the morning. Thanks to the high calorie content of fat, you will receive saturation, energy, and many useful substances. It is best to use lard along with raw vegetables seasoned with apple cider vinegar or unrefined sunflower oil, soup, or main courses.
However, there are cases when fat should not be consumed in any case, it will not only bring no benefit, but also harm the weakened body. Examples of such situations:
When drinking alcohol;
- The lard is too peppery or salty;
- Diabetes mellitus in a very advanced form;
- Fatty lard;
- Smoked bacon.
Since my grandmother's diabetes is mild, she can eat lard. But I immediately warned her how much and when to eat it, and that you can not give up such a beloved product, but simply reduce its amount and change the type of cooking, because before the grandmother most often ate smoked bacon, which can harm the weakened the body.
