The main causes of failure and how to eliminate them

Poor contact and arcing of the wiring

If you have an old switch, a defective socket or poor-quality twisting, then this can cause frequent failure of LED lamps.

How to fix

Well, it's actually simple. We first carefully inspect the cartridge, if there are no traces of heating and carbon deposits, then move on (if there is, change the cartridge to a new one). By the same principle, we inspect the switch and check the twists in the junction boxes.

If the contacts and connections are normal, then you need to look for the reasons in another.

Note. All work related to electricity must be carried out with a sufficient level of knowledge or by professionals. Also, checking the contacts should be done only on disconnected equipment.

If you believe the advertising, then the LEDs should burn for a very long time and in fact this is true, but provided that a stable power supply of the LED chain is provided.

So for the stable operation of one LED, a voltage of 1.5 to 3 Volts is usually required and a certain amount of current strength (the value of which can be found in the technical documentation).

So the main and, perhaps, the only reason for the frequent failure of the lamp itself is the burnout of the LED due to an increase in the maximum permissible current level.

So there can be several reasons for this increase at once, namely:

  • Bad faith of the manufacturer.

In order to increase the brightness of the light bulb (and thereby increase its cost when using the cheapest LEDs), some manufacturers deliberately "lift" the current strength. Thus, transferring the LEDs in the lamp to emergency operation.

And now a small jump in the network is enough for the lamp to burn out.

  • Low quality parts.

Also, the reason for the failure is a banal and at the same time total economy. You already know that the LED lamp also generates a lot of heat during operation. And if the manufacturer spared money for a high-quality radiator (and overheating leads to degradation and failure of LEDs), then this greatly reduces the life of the LED lamp.

In addition, they often save on the driver and instead of a full-fledged control board, they put an extremely simple circuit.

This also does not add reliability to the light bulb and leads to a quick burnout.
