How I fertilize indoor flowers with Eggshells, and my plants are grateful for Gorgeous flowering. Step-by-step instruction
Doubt about the composition of dressings from the store? Temporary difficulties with their purchase, but do you need to fertilize indoor flowers? There is a rather simple and elegant solution - fertilization with ordinary eggshells.
I started feeding my houseplants with shells a long time ago. Then the choice of dressings in the nearest stores was rather modest, there was no trace of the possibility of ordering on the Internet.
But even now I remain true to this method - my flowers love it very much and delight me with lush flowering. I tell you how to do it correctly.
Step-by-step feeding instructions
We wash the shell well from the remains of the egg and dry it. Otherwise, it will rot and become unsuitable for feeding.
· After a sufficient amount of clean and dry shell has accumulated, put it in a bowl and grind it. I use a mortar for this, but a coffee grinder is also fine if you want a finer powder.
· Very important: do not store the resulting fertilizer in a cellophane bag! There it will deteriorate. A cardboard box or glass jar will do.
· We apply fertilizer. This can be done in several ways: prepare a tincture from the powder or add it directly to the soil.
To prepare a tincture from powder, you need to fill it with warm water in a 1: 4 ratio. We insist for at least 10 days, shake gently every day. Water the flowers with tincture once a month.
In pure form, the eggshell is applied as follows: remove the top layer of soil from a pot about 1 cm thick, mix with powder at the rate of 1-1.5 tablespoons per 1 pot. We bring the soil back.
You can feed the plants with eggshells regardless of the season. What is the use of such feeding?
· Improving the structure of the soil in the pot, enriching it with essential minerals.
· Activation of the vital activity of beneficial microorganisms in the soil.
· Strengthening the plant, a higher level of absorption of nutrients.
· Growth and strengthening of the root system.
For using this fertilizer - so cheap and accessible, but so useful - my flowers thank me for excellent flowering and health. Therefore, I do not give up on it even in an era of abundance of ready-made fertilizers.
