How I hacked the "telephone robot" algorithm. Conversation with an artificial intelligence phone system

Telephone calls with the imposition of services and services of banks, different companies, fraudsters can be quickly identified using a special program in your phone. But telephone marketing and telephone service promotion have gone further. Increasingly, they began to dial from numbers about which the application on the phone does not have information (fresh numbers). Although I see that the number is not from our region. Sometimes I answer and the subscriber in a rehearsed voice begins to offer me to visit a massage parlor with massage chairs. Although I have never been to such or other places. Young voices are ringing. Mostly a male voice, but the last time it was a female voice (about this call and article). You can also hear the noise of a large working office, some background voices.

At first I replied that I was not interested in the information and put the number on the black list. But the service called after a week or a month from other numbers. Because I sometimes get calls from other regions at work, then I pick up the phone. Sometimes he even raised his voice to these spammers, demanded that my number be removed from their databases. I am not interested in this service. There were about ten such calls in a year. And since I have a good memory for the voice, then I began to notice that the same male voice is represented by different names.

And later I realized that this is a telephone system with an artificial intelligence algorithm. At first I did not believe, I answered in a standard way to questions in a conversation (since I was brought up polite). And the last time, with such a call, I decided to “turn on the fool,” as they say. A female voice called with the same offer to visit a massage parlor. This time I was promised a gift for visiting: a video recorder. He interrupted the "interlocutor" and asked again. Brief retelling:

Me: And what is the model of the DVR? "

Voice: "The massage center will explain everything to you."

Me: “Call a living person - you’re a robot. I don't want to talk to a robot "

Voice: “The thing is, my headset turns off when I'm not speaking. Let's get back to our conversation "

Me: “Are you married? Yes or no?"

Voice: "No"

Me: "Maybe yes?"

Voice: "Yes"

Me: "So yes or no?"

Voice: "No"

The answers were paused and it was clear that the system was freezing, it could not find adequate answers from its database to non-standard questions of the interlocutor. Although, why was the robot trying to answer my questions? Flaw or limitation of the script.

As a result, the voice said that I was hard to hear, they would call me back and hang up. I don’t know if it is recorded in their database that the subscriber has recognized their telephone system and will no longer talk adequately and seriously with “artificial intelligence”. But honestly, I held back my laughter during the conversation, and later the smile was on my face for a long time. It seems that I am not that old yet, but I thought that I was talking with a living person. It turned out that the machine tried to persuade me so many times.

I decided to look for these services of telephone robots. And immediately there were proposals for business: zvonobot.ru and travel.robotmia.ru The second site has a robot named Mia. The same name for the robot of the cellular operator Tele2 (if you go to their application). Maybe this is Tele2 and is promoting its development. On the sites you can listen to examples of robot dialogues. I even met there an example where the system communicates with the client to install heating in a private house.

The system can make up to 1000 calls per minute. Phenomenal performance. The resources of mobile operators can allow it, since only they have so many free numbers for outgoing communication and the digital communication channel itself. How this system works for the telecom operator Megafon:

It's too bad that these systems are being used by scammers. And they became even more difficult to recognize. They are even more disguised as bank robots. It is especially easy to deceive elderly people in the outback, in the villages.

For the last couple of months, they have called me and immediately dropped unknown numbers. Constantly different. I do not call back, because I see that the call is taking a split second and the number is not our region - this is clearly a robot calling.

The future has already arrived, however. And very soon many of us will be replaced by such virtual robots. Or maybe not virtual. Cars already assemble up to 80% of robotic conveyors.
