What beautiful flowers should be sown for seedlings already in November in order to get blooming by summer. I'm already running for peat pills

Fiery fireworks, fellow flower growers!

Today on the agenda is the sowing season of the 2020 season. I solemnly declare it open. Did you miss seeds, peat tablets and containers, tiny seedlings? Then read the article to the end and find out what gorgeous flowers it is time to sow now, in November.

Flowers with a long growing season are on my list. They have 5-8 months from the moment of emergence of shoots to the first dissolution of buds.. You have to understand that 5 months is in ideal conditions for growth. Any error in the conditions and care inhibits the growth of seedlings: for example, a deficiency of a certain macronutrient in the soil or poor lighting.

Sowing in November foresees possible delays. Therefore, you can be sure that ornamental plants sown for seedlings in the last month of autumn will certainly bloom in early summer. As intended!

Eustoma: every grower should try to grow at least once

Eustoma is famous for its long growing season. Many growers complain that the plant is picking up buds only by the end of August and September. To prevent such a trouble from happening, it is better to play it safe and sow seeds in November. So

delicate roses will open by the middle of summer (or maybe even earlier!).

Comrade! It is in vain that the cultivation of eustoma seedlings is considered difficult. Provide young seedlings with basic care and there will be no problems.

After sowing, the container with soil is covered with foil and placed on the battery. Nothing stimulates seed germination better than high temperatures. After germination, the eustoma is given ample light and the soil is kept slightly moist. That's all the wisdom.

Tuberous begonia

If you haven’t grown a double-flowered tuberous begonia from seed yet, then it’s time to give it a try. These are very beautiful flowers. They will find a place in every family:

  • Bush varieties decorate window sills, balcony boxes and flower beds with large flowers on a cloud of green leaves.
  • Ampel begonias look great in hanging baskets.

Tuberous varieties of begonias reproduce well by seeds, without showing whims. And they bloom fully in the first year of planting. For the plant to reach its full potential, find a place for it in partial shade.

Geranium (Zonal Pelargonium)

Zonal Pelargonium, as it should be, loves the sea of light

On sale you will find seeds of hybrid pelargoniums of various colors. A truly unkillable flower deservedly enjoys the love of all flower growers in Russia.. There is an interesting variety for the house, balcony, flower bed.

If you have already collected cuttings from all your friends and you want new colors, feel free to go for the seeds. Seedlings grow rapidly and in May you can admire a full-fledged plant.

Just keep in mind that the shell of pelargonium seeds is quite dense: before sowing, keep the seeds in the refrigerator and rub the surface with a coarse-grained nail file. So you will simultaneously increase germination and facilitate the path to the surface for the sprout.

What do flowers sown so early need to be?

Owner's love and care, of course. And also good lighting. Natural light is unlikely to be sufficient in winter, so consider backlighting. Thousands of gardeners and flower growers successfully use linear fluorescent and LED lamps.

I advise you to take a closer look at inexpensive options for phyto-lamps with pink lightwhose spectrum ideal for flower seedlings:

As you can see, the prices are quite reasonable. I believe that the power of 18 W is quite enough, provided that the plant is 20 cm.

What seeds do you sow in November? How do you light up? Let's discuss in the comments.
