In this article I will talk about how I sheathed my country house with wood. Carried away by fishing, I began to spend a lot of time in the country. The coming cold made me think about the insulation of the house. The old stove did not completely heat the whole house, and after a while the house cooled down, it became cold and damp in it. To insulate the house with ordinary foam seemed to me somehow boring and corny, and I decided to give the house an unusual look.

This country house was built by my parents, who, due to their venerable age, do not go to the country. It is built from ordinary wood. So, I start to work on the insulation of the house. For starters, the walls must be perfectly flat. To do this, I clean the walls of old paint, which has long faded in the sun with coarse sandpaper. When the surface has become flat, insulation begins directly. Mineral wool was chosen as a heater. I chose it on the advice of a neighbor in a summer cottage. This is a reliable material that will keep the house warm in winter and prevent it from heating up in summer.

Immediately after laying the cotton wool, I mount the wooden lining with self-tapping screws and a screwdriver. Please note that moisture and water should not get under the lining. For this, all cracks are sealed with polyurethane foam. This procedure is repeated on all walls.

After such a renovation, the thirty-year-old house looks like new, and most importantly, it is protection from decay of wooden floors. In such a house it is comfortable both in winter and in summer. Such a simple material as lining is able to give a building a second life. An air conditioner was installed for added convenience. Even with the windows open, it is warm and cozy. Mineral wool is an excellent insulation material. The house will be cool in summer and warm in winter.
