There are projects of houses from sea containers, both one- and 2-3-storey. Their problem is that they need to be insulated from the outside, the profile of the walls is ribbed (who wants to have smooth walls = sheathed with OSB or plywood), sound insulation is zero.

Insulation: the problem isthat, due to the ribbed profile of the walls of the container, it is rather difficult to tightly overlay them with insulation (usually soft and hard basalt slabs are combined). If not tightly wrapped around, the drum effect will be awesome.

Internal cladding: similar to outdoor, minus a layer of rigid insulation, but double cladding with sheet materials.

Ventilation: similar to thermoses in the form of SIP houses. Supply and exhaust, and well thought-out (understand, it's easier to order a project)

Windows-doors: there are also a lot of hemorrhoids for a normal thermal break. (standard options will not be rolled out without consequences in the winter)

Paint protection of the container before cladding: primer and at least 2 coats of paint for the entire container, outside and inside. Pre-cleaning of old paint is possible.

All these "little things" in addition to the cost and installation of containers can end up costing a pretty penny. For the sake of interest, I compared frame frames and self-supporting insulated wire houses with such container houses. With the same area, container houses are the most expensive (I considered options for houses with pre-finishing).

All of the above difficulties seem to be nothing complicated, but it’s a lot of time if you do it yourself, or money if you hire specialists. Plus materials (if you make a 100kV house from 3-4 containers, you can only count the point of full painting and calculate the area of ​​the painted surfaces, there you get at least 500 square meters of painting (outside and from the inside).

Only one paint will take a lot (again, if you do it yourself, I won't even guess the cost of the work).
