1. Using garden soil to plant an orchid. In such soil, the plant will not develop, and excess moisture will lead to decay of the roots. Therefore, it is necessary to prepare a special substrate.

It contains bark, moss, peat, walnut shells, coconut fibers. I advise you not to try to prepare a complex composition on your own, but it is easier to purchase a ready-made substrate for orchids in any flower shop.

2. Frequent watering of the plant. Wood potting soil will dry quickly. And flower growers - beginners are afraid that the plant will dry out, and are often watered.

Therefore, it must be borne in mind that the orchid belongs to tropical plants, and it is enough to water it after 10-15 days.

It is also important to water properly. Do not use a watering can, but immerse the flowerpots in a container of water for 20-30 minutes, and let the excess water drain off.

3. Not enough light. Orchid is a light-loving plant. 10-13 hour daylight hours are considered favorable for her. But keep in mind that in summer, the sun's rays can harm the plant - cause burns.

The best place to place the plant is on the east side. If you have a flower on a window on the north side, then additional lighting must be provided.

4. Dry air in the apartment. This is especially true for the winter period of the year, when the air in the apartment is dry from heating devices.
