How to make a wallpaper joint invisible with a spatula. Works on any wallpaper
How to glue the wallpaper correctly? What to do if seams are visible on the wallpaper? Which tool should you use?
Wallpaper gluers always have their favorite types of canvases, which are a pleasure to paste. But often you don't have to choose, since you need to glue what you have. Although many types of modern wallpaper are very "docile", there are some, the joints on which, with any effort and effort, still remain noticeable. To fix the problem, I recommend using a completely non-special tool - a metal spatula.
Recently, when adjusting the canvases, he began to use a conventional medium-sized construction trowel. It somehow happened by chance - I tried to press down on them a harmful strip, which did not converge with the neighboring one and did not help even so my favorite plastic spatula is a faithful and irreplaceable assistant who has long supplanted a special roller for wallpaper.
So, after carefully leveling and smoothing the canvas
plastic spatula, the case includes metal, with a perfectly flat edge. A metal spatula is much tougher than a polymer one, therefore it is better able to press down the edge of the canvas. It is most convenient to use a tool 10-15 cm wide. It must also be clean, since the remnants of the putty, when pressed, will necessarily be printed on the canvas, which has also been encountered more than once.We put the spatula exactly along the edge of the canvas and squeeze the non-adjacent strip from top to bottom. Usually, an irregular joint becomes noticeable under side lighting, especially natural. This often happens when the wallpaper is glued not from the window, but from the corner farthest from it. Believe me, with a spatula, the result will be noticeable immediately.
This fitting method is very helpful when it is necessary to join canvases that are glued at different times, for example, with a difference in a day. In this case, the previously glued canvas is already motionless and has dried out a little. And if the wallpaper is impregnated with glue, then the fresh strip is even slightly different from the glued one in thickness and then the joint line will remain visible even after drying.
The main thing is that everyone who started working with wallpaper can successfully use this advice and there is no doubt that everyone will achieve a positive result. We wish you great success in small matters!
