Preparation for the installation of metal supports for a front fence, how to clean the posts from rust, painting
When developing a front fence project, I considered different options. Due to the fact that my budget was very limited, instead of posts made of brick or rubble, I decided to use metal supports. Their function is to impart rigidity to the entire structure, as well as to securely fix the corrugated sheets.
The process of installing metal supports included the following steps:
1. I purchased all the materials for the front fence gradually. At the metal warehouse I bought a profiled pipe, metal pillars, which for some time lay in the open air. As a result, they, like the previously installed channels for gates and wickets, had to be cleaned of rust.
He did this with sandpaper, and removed all the bulges by means of a grinding wheel mounted on a grinder. To give smoothness to metal surfaces, I performed their processing with a petal circle.
2. I installed all the posts in the dug trenches. To securely fix them in the lower part, I welded the "heel" corner, installed mortgages, scalded them together, pressed them with a butt from different sides.
3. After completing the preparatory work, he started painting all the supports. For these purposes, I used hammer paint, as it is wear-resistant, beautifully lays on the surface. Due to the fact that such a paint is two-component, I did not have to process metal posts and a professional pipe with anti-corrosion solutions.
4. The poles were installed at a distance of 2 meters from each other.
5. The proftruba was fixed on the posts, at a distance of 30 cm from the bottom (from the fixed formwork) and 30 cm from the top.
6. Before installing the sheets of corrugated board, I trimmed all metal pillars so that their upper part was on the same line.
