I was looking for a light bulb for an evening lamp and the seller recommended an unusual light bulb with an LED filament. I got it, now I'm thinking, was it worth it? These are, so to speak, new generation LED bulbs, which have been in use for several years, but I still have no experience of using them. I decided to buy an LED lamp of this type for trial.

In appearance, the light bulb resembles an incandescent lamp, even a glass bulb and an E27 socket. But it has no spirals inside, there are several threads with LEDs. In this case, there are 4 of them. As I understand it, each thread gives a power of 1 watt. On the packaging it is just written - 4 W.

The light bulb is distinguished by the fact that it actually does not heat up. Unlike conventional LED bulbs, it doesn't even have a heatsink. I was surprised that the lamp really emits natural warm light, and this is not always the case.

I specially checked it with my hand for heating after a few hours - indeed, it remains cold.

It seemed that I liked everything at first, but then one nuance appeared. During peak hours on the power grid, when the voltage drops slightly, the lamp begins to change its glow. And in several variations. At first, she just blinked slightly and returned to normal operating mode, and later (apparently, when the voltage dropped even more), she began to work like a dying wax candle.

The brightness gradually, over several minutes, could drop by half, or even more. And just as gradually, the intensity returned back. Or it was a sharp jump down, and then, after a few minutes, up. In the later hours, after about 22.00, the glow stabilized and everything remained fine until the next evening.

To be honest, noticeable leaps over time are annoying more and more. I'll see what happens in a couple of months or in the summer. Hopefully the lamp will live up to this time. I was glad that there is a two-year guarantee, which is also reassuring.

The cost of a light bulb is about half that of a classic LED.

If the flicker persists, I'll probably replace it with some other lamp. I do not exclude that the sample was not of the highest quality, so I am not in a hurry with conclusions.

If you have any experience with new generation LED lamps, please share, it's interesting.
